The desire to perform - it's in all of us. Some of us don't need encouragement, and some of us need a bit.
One thing is for sure - once people start dancing, start feeling comfortable and confident in themselves, their desire to perform grows. It's amazing how Not Me becomes Watch Me once the joy of dancing starts to take hold.
It is important that you are a solid dancer before you embark on a routine. Routines are great fun but they take a lot of time and energy. If you're not careful, your social dancing can fall off the radar.
Each QuickSteps member has their own teacher and your teacher will advise you when you are ready.
Most students will dance socially for 1 to 2 years before performing, but it depends how much prior dance experience you have.
We don't judge at Quicksteps. Literally, we don't judge - there are no prizes. Every year, we hold two spectacular gala events - our Winter and Summer Balls. Here, students strut their stuff in front of a supportive audience, including friends and family.

Of course not!
However many people who are initially reluctant often find it a life-changing experience. Remember, you are not up there on your own. Most times, your own dance teacher is actually up on the stage dancing with you. So there's always someone to help if you need it.
