Join fellow QuickSteps members for 10 days to travel New Zealand, as Sebastien, Jacqui, and ex-QuickSteps-teacher-now-kiwi-resident Eamonn take you from Wellington, across the straight, down the South Island to Christchurch!
Kiwi Experience Highlights:
- Join Two Right Feet Dance studio in Wellington for their workshop weekend.
- Experience the spectacular scenery by taking the ferry from the North to the South Island
- Experience a great train journey through the New Zealand Alps
- Relax and recharge with thermal pools
- Stay in a mix of boutique hotels, simple guest houses. All with upgrade options
Day 1 – Travel Day – Adelaide to Wellington – Thursday , July 10th
Leave Adelaide early morning with Qantas to arrive in Wellington mid-afternoon
Drive to the hotel for the night
Accommodation: Ramada Wyndham Wellington – Studio Room
Day 2-4 – Two Right Feet Workshop Weekend (Friday 11th –Sunday 13th July)
Join the annual “Workshop Weekend” hosted by Genna and Lisa, owners of Two Right Feet, a social Wellington dance studio
The workshop calendar to be provided closer to the date. It’ll include the dance styles we’re familiar with at QuickSteps, as well as some other extra fun workshops outside our usual syllabus. Jazz maybe?
The workshops are held on some days at a function centre, and on some days at the Two Right Feet studio

Day 5 – Wellington – Nelson Travel Day (Monday 14th July)
Today we leave Wellington to do the ferry crossing to Picton on the South Island, arriving in Picton early afternoon
We will be making our way to Nelson, where we have some fun options to explore this town

Day 6 – Explore Nelson (Tuesday 15th July)
Tunnel to town Tour
This tour offers a chance to ride through the longest disused rail tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere. This isn’t the usual trail through the city or around the bay; on this tour, you’ll take in mountain scenery, farmland, coastal estuaries, and highly productive horticultural land for a diverse sampling of the real Nelson. Guided tour through the longest disused rail tunnel in the southern hemisphere.The tour includes a stop at a world-renowned winery for a wine-tasting experience. Don’t go hungry: this tour offers the chance to sample local cuisine. All the equipment you need is provided – lunch not included
Head down to Hamner Springs in the evening.

Day 7 – Hanmer Springs (Wednesday 16th July)
Wake up, and the famous thermal springs are just minutes away from our hotel.
Each of the 22 pools has its own unique offering.
Our incredible selection of geothermally heated pools ranges from a comfortable 32°C, right up to a rejuvenating 42°C.

Day 8 – Head to Christchurch (Thursday 17th July)
From Hanmer Springs, we will make our way down the coast to Christchurch, whilst stopping in small towns along the way.

Day 9 – Train Day – (Friday 18th July)
TransAlpine Train – Christchurch to Arthurs Pass return
Travel by TranzAlpine train to Arthur’s Pass National Park, riding across the Canterbury Plains, then winding through the Waimakariri Gorge and into the heart of the Southern Alps on a day trip from Christchurch. Disembark at Arthur’s Pass Village, where you’ll explore the rainforests and mountains on short walks.

Day 10 – Free Day in Christchurch – (Saturday 19th July)
Today is at your leisure!!
- Take the time to take a famous Gondola Ride from Christchurch
- Get a ticket for the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus and explore the city
- Take a day trip to Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo, and Tasman Glacier (at your own expense)

And of course, some social dancing in the evening

Day 11 – Travel Home (Sunday 20th July)
Time to say goodbye
We have a late afternoon Flight with Qantas – arriving back home in Adelaide at 8.20 pm
